Reflection: Room to Breathe
Lovely reminder.
I had bronchitis all of November. A remnant of a cough still hanging on. I now have a 5 month old cat "Tutti", which means "everybody". Who is very sweet, and also the daughter of Satan. She thinks her middle name is "No, stop that."—F
I love this. I feel for me having room to breathe gives me energy to move around even in the early darkness days of winter. When after the holidays are gone the stillness of the cold creeps in more. Move around, smile more, love room to breathe…Thank You –R

Reflection #29 Two Kinds of Friends
Hi, I am retired elder serving 2 rural churches. Many years ago, in the early stages of my call you visited my home church and spoke there. I was already exploring my call but you were the first woman pastor I ever heard. Shortly after that I attended a Spiritual Gift seminar that you were doing in our district. All that by way of introduction. I got the workbook edition of Spirit Gifts, it was prepublication. But not long after that I think you were also doing workshops on time, the title "Claiming Sacred Time" has stuck with me through the years as being very descriptive. But when I looked for the book last year I could not find it anywhere, so I was wondering if you ever published it. Was it published? I am interested in drawing from it and that phrase, "Claiming Sacred Time" is certainly evocative. Thank you so much. - M

Oh Tricia, I always look forward to reading your reflections, but I never take the time to write back to you. I just thought I would reach out today to tell you one way (among many) that you impacted me and my life and that of others… I've been practicing Spiritual Direction now for over 12 years now and I want to thank you for nudging and encouraging me to become a spiritual director. I continue to have a small practice of individual directees and facilitate group spiritual direction sessions as well. You were my first spiritual director and are such loving, amazing and generous person and you continue to inspire me... these many years later. I have such gratitude for all you've done for me and for encouraging to share my gifts with others!
Blessings and Love, -S
