Reflection #59 Counting the Years

I am overwhelmed to see this email ,especially the picture of you and your husband and your 59 article recalling your childhood can make you laugh. I started celebrating my birthdays after I started working. During our childhood we experienced a little bit of low resources with 11children. Our parents got married 1956. Our mother our Dad passed away in 2000. We had just returned back to the country after fleeing to Uganda in 1959 due to Belgian colonialism. We were all born there and returned back. Four of my brothers joined the military to liberate Rwanda and unfortunately didn't make it , Only one brother remains and six sisters. Grateful always. Hugs and love and thanks for your inspiring article. --O, Rwanda, Africa
Reflection # 55 Harvesting
The church had a retirement party for me with a money tree. They invited family and friends and it was a surprise after church one Sunday. One lady, a song writer professionally, even wrote me a song and someone sang it at the party. There are times I look back and remember many of the people I met throughout my ministry, always sending up a blessing prayer when their name comes up. I've met a lot of people. Most were wonderful and some made me sometimes think about leaving ministry. Those were the times I remembered those who told me I touched their lives. God has been good to me and I thank God for the opportunities he put in front of me. I also thank God for my colleagues who helped recenter me. God always walked beside me and still does. Praise God. -J
