Beginning Again Feedback

Spiritworks Reflections Feedback

Dear Reader,

You may have noticed that the “The Gap Year” reflections have ended. You can still read all 60+ of them by visiting www.spiritworks.org. Just click on “Spiritworks Newsletters” at the top, then choose “ARCHIVES.”

Now, I’m starting a new weekly series called “Beginning Again.” These reflections will be written in free verse, making them easy to read and reflect upon.

Thank you for staying with me and for your kind and thoughtful feedback. Here’s thoughts shared this past week. Warmly,Tricia

BEGINNING AGAIN

Reflection # 4 The Folding

Peace, wonderful peace. I think of failures as leading me to finding a new and better way to move forward. They are less as we learn and as we travel our journey in life.Peace comes to me when I am quiet, close my eyes, and listen to the sounds of nature around me. Once again thank you for your writing and insight. J

Tricia, Hope this email finds you in great shape. I am referring to Reflection #4. Oh heavenly lord, mostly the last part about how our past reshapes us and folds us gently.  I think every person is supposed to accept this and be able to move on and focus on the future and not dwell on past imperfections as a heavy weight, especially as a Christian. We stumble  in hardships with our health or family. Eventually we have to avoid grudges and be able to a different  positive mindset.Hugs and Love 😍😍😍 —O

Hi Tricia, Sunny Greetings in a Rainy Month! But....it's only wet on the outside!!!!

I really appreciated your latest 'Reflections' which allowed me to reflect-remember-celebrate the past 'few' years of my life (you know, I'm 'only' 41x2+1). I continue to be thankful that my parents consistently challenged me to 'look forward' and appreciate the past experiences (x-rays and all).

In today's America/world I believe this is critical from an individualized orientation where we apparently will have little or no control over the 'tomorrows' of our lives, but do have the powerful and life-affirming memories that have made us who we now are.  These our touchstones of love, laughter, peace, joy...and a faithful hope for whatever 'tomorrows' we may have.

My friend (with whom I shared many group leadership experiences) reminded folks of the two words/approaches that defined my smiles/joys/love:"Fantasy & Denial". I continue to believe that the two most powerful words/orientation in life are PERSPECTIVE AND ATTITUDE...the second is one of the only things that cannot be taken from us no matter our situation. —D
