A 3D printed knitting machine
What's up, friends!
I'm pleased to report that I'm finally publishing the first installment of a video series about my 3D printed knitting machine project. Part One is a high-level introduction to the motivations and aims of the project, and the rest of the series will look at specifics like the history of knitting machines, the design and testing process, how to build and use the machine, and so on. (The code will also be public later in the series, probably alongside the "build" demo.)
The video itself also turned into a bit of a passion project. (slaps hood "This baby can fit so many silly camera tricks!") I haven't been on a stage in over four years and I think the Theatre Kid Energy is arcing a bit. Part Two: Lit Review Boogaloo is currently in the editing suite and I'm hoping that I can streamline the creative process this time around, but sometimes you gotta go where the muse leads, even if the muse proffers a green wig and does not recognize the sound of the word "deadline". Anyway, I put a lot of heart into both the knitting machine and the meta-production, and it would mean a lot if you watch/listen to the end, share it with other people who might be interested in the project, and let me know what you think!
Until next time, xoxo Sparks
