Hourlies
an illustrated record of February 1st 2025
February first is an annual comics challenge where artists chronicle their daily life by (typically) drawing a panel for each hour of the day that they’re awake. I haven’t often had the capacity to participate in Hourly Comics Day (February is, almost without exception, a pretty brutal month for me), but I was determined to do it this year!
Things are kind of worse then ever right now, globally speaking. It is straight-up not a fun time. So I chose to approach Hourlies as a form of mindfulness: drawing my day would encourage me to think about how I’m using my time, where I’m directing my energy, what meaning I’m making of all the mundane little moments that knit our lives together, especially within the context of *waves hand vaguely at the whole world* all of that.
Took me several days to sketch and ink it, so I’ve rather missed the social media moment to share it, but here it is anyway.
I hope, whatever your life looks like right now and however you’re feeling about it, you’re able to notice the small good things.
