The Lift Series returns with a celebration of Piano Day, an event observed around the world which brings together pianists and piano-lovers! Taking place on the 88th day of the year, the concert will feature local and regional pianists of different musical genres, including Emily Pinkerton, Carol Daggs (Jazzage), Spencer Zahn, and myself.
The older I get, the more I'm able to appreciate growing up with two professional pianists, surrounded by pianos, and hearing those sounds. What an incredible and rare privilege that is. People ask me when I started playing; the truthful answer is I think I've always been playing the piano. And despite the ups and downs and my own bouts of imposter syndrome (par for the course for so many of us unfortunately), I've only grown more committed to spending my life with this instrument and figuring out all that we can do together.
I hope you'll join us this Wednesday. The four of us will be playing wildly different music, with a love of the piano rooting us.
I love you all! See you soon.
