Upcoming Shows + Bandcamp Friday + Sam's Album!

Friends, when last I wrote, In Our Softening was just being released out into the wide world. It's been a wild, humbling month since. Thank you for listening! I've been so moved by the reactions and sentiments you all have been sharing with me.

"Even if Sophia Subbayya Vastek hadn't had the abundance of heart and decency to reclaim a piano haunted by the spirit of hatred, In Our Softening still would be one of the very best things I've heard all year." - Steve Smith, Night After Night (Album of the Week)

If you haven't had a chance yet to listen, today's a great day to head to Bandcamp to listen and buy because today is a Bandcamp Friday! These are the blessed days when Bandcamp waives their revenue share and artists get 100% of their sales. It's a big deal for independent musicians for whom revenue streams are becoming more and more scant. I've also added a tender lil t-shirt to my bandcamp merch tab. These are heavy-weight, 100% cotton grey shirts embroidered by Troy-local David Reali of LYF Supply. Shop small and local this holiday season! Music always makes a great gift. :)

Sam Torres album announcement

Speaking of BIG deals, my husband Sam Torres - my partner in music and life, and all-around incredible human - has just announced a new album! While I might be biased, I believe it's safe to say that the music is objectively stunning. Head to his Bandcamp ASAP, listen to the two singles, and pre-order. It's out January 20.

If you're interested in going deeper in the new record, I did an interview with Offshelf that went to some probing, thoughtful places. You can read it here.
