🧳 Tech Layoffs - What can you do about it?
Hello Hello!
"I was feeling bad about my code, so I went outside and take a run.
And then I realized my code isn't the only thing that can't run."
🤣 by @VishalMalvi_
Today I'm bringing to you a new .NET release, more about Tech Layoffs and a short video that explains what JSON is. You should know it better than you think you do.
📣 I'm a Microsoft fanboy and as such I had to share the link where they announce the new release of .NET 7. This article is a rundown of all the major improvements and changes done to .NET with the new 7 version.
And C# 11 has also being released.
BTW, do you know that .NET is open source? 28k contributions were made by over 8900 contributors throughout the .NET 7 release! I know you may think that this is not for you but you can contribute too at https://github.com/dotnet - At the very least you can look around to see what they are doing.🧳 I usually like to bring uplifting topics to the newsletter, but I have also to bring realistic topics. This article talks about the continuation of tech layoffs. It also talks about what you should be doing in a time of crises like this.
Something from the article that caught my attention was towards the end when he was giving some tips on how you can assess your job situation:
"Do people like you? Companies are made up of people, and people who are un-liked often get cut, even if they're productive."💾 This video will cover what you need to know about JSON in 10 minutes. It will cover what JSON is, why JSON is important, what JSON is used for, the syntax of JSON, and multiple examples of JSON.
This might be a basic topic for some, but I think it is worth mentioning.
JSON is the most popular data representation format, and is one of the most important, and easiest concepts you can learn in programming. It allows you to create APIs, config files, and structured data.
My personal update:
📕 My book proposal was accepted! And I'm scared 😨. What if I cannot keep up with the writing schedule? What if the writing sucks? What if... What if... Having a meeting with the publisher this coming week to figure out next steps.
🎖️ I went to the Teaching Award Ceremony at Centennial this past week. Thank you for the students who took their time to submit my name! It means the world to me!
🍿 I will be watching Wakanda Forever today with my younger daughter. I will give some spoilers next week 😜
"God grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the Courage to change the things I can, and the Wisdom to know the difference"
Cheers, hasta la vista and bye!
