🍅 Flowmodoro
Hello Hello!
Today I bring to you a Hackathon, layoffs, and productivity for developers.
Hashnode Hackathon
🏆 Join the Hashnode APIs Hackathon and dive into the world of coding creativity! From January 18th to February 3rd, developers worldwide are invited to participate in this exciting event.
Whether you're a beginner or an expert coder, this hackathon offers something for everyone.
Choose between two categories: Build an innovative integration using Hashnode's GraphQL APIs or create a brand-new starter-kit theme. Showcase your project on your Hashnode blog, and tag it with #APIHackathon.
You could win prizes worth $2500 USD for each category. With evaluation criteria focusing on product thinking, project completeness, a great story, and more, this is your chance to make an impact.
Join now, and let your coding skills shine!Layoff in Tech
🔥 This is not a very positive link to share, but we cannot close our eyes and hope the layoffs go away.
This site has been tracking tech layoff since 2022 and it is very up to date. Check it out.Time Management for Developers
🍅 I have been a fan of the Pomodoro Technique for many many years, but I admit: I have abandoned it in 2018 when I started to teach, as in class you cannot take 5 minutes break every 30 min (actually you could, but I never tried it).
Discover why the traditional Pomodoro Technique may not be the best fit for everyone, especially developers, and explore a more flexible alternative—Flowmodoro.
While Pomodoro's rigid intervals can interrupt the coveted "flow state" essential for coding, Flowmodoro counts up instead of down, allowing you to work until you naturally require a break.
Learn how to implement Flowmodoro and enhance your coding experience.
Personal Updates:
⚡️ At work I am becoming very good at working Jira, for product development/bug tracking and Confluence, a wiki tool that can connect with Jira. I can already fell more productive and being able to have better view into my team's projects. I feel good!
🪢 It is interesting to see how people at work use different strategies to push work to me when they don't want to do it themselves. I'm good at this game too, so I push back.
🛫 Leaving for Brazil on Monday - I will miss you ❄️ 🥲
