π Debugging Stories
Hello Hello!
π€£ source: The CoderPedia
Today I bring to you functional programming, debugging stories, and another story about getting a first job as a dev.
What's so grate about Functional Programming
π¨βπ» The focus of my career as a developer has been with Object Oriented Programming. However in recent years I have been trying to not only understand but make use of Functional Programming.
This is a sample chapter extracted by James Sinclair from his book "A Skepticβs Guide To Functional Programming With JavaScript".
Functional programming is a type of computer programming that emphasizes the use of functions as the main building blocks of a program. Functions take inputs and produce outputs, without modifying any data outside of the function. This makes programs more predictable and easier to reason about.π Hashnode is promoting a competition about debugging stories.
Debugging is the process of identifying, analyzing, and fixing errors or bugs in computer programs. Debugging is an essential part of the software development process, as it helps to ensure that programs run correctly and behave as expected.
If you want to check peoples debugging stories, here is where you can check them out. This looks like a nice story.
Doesn't matter if you are a beginner or seasoned professional. Share your story if you have one. The competition goes until March 12, 2023. You can win an iPad and a Mechanical Keyboard.π₯ I find it incredibly useful to read about the stories of how people got their careers started and the lessons learned. That was what I always tried to bring with the SoloCoder Podcast chats.
Check out how Tiger Abrodi, a high-school drop out from Germany, got his first job.
My personal update:
π Very productive week. No classes. I used the extra time to help my business partners at DeskPal.com to put together a new site. Check it out. A lot of the content was created in cooperation with ChatGPT.
πΆ Today I woke up with a Madonna song in my head. I went down the rabbit hole. Before leaving bed, I had to create a Madonna playlist. Half an hour later I had it and I realized it was over 4 hours long. I'm listening to her as I write this newsletter. Great artist (I don't mind the judging π). Too bad tickets for her concert are so expensive :(.
π» I will be going to a cottage next weekend close to Blue Mountain to spend 3 days with my kids and friends. It is possible that I skip the newsletter next weekend.

Cheers, hasta la vista and bye!
