April Meeting Speaker
Announcing a speaker for our April Meeting
Neal Fultz will be presenting a talk entitled A Quick Tour of Marimo.
Marimo is a next-generation computational notebook. We'll discuss a) its design differences vs Jupyter, b) how that affects my workflow as a data scientist, and c) share a short demo (!) of the main features. Plus, d) dropdowns and sliders.
Neal is a stats consultant at NJNM, data scientist at Tatari, and DS-in-residence at UCLA SSC-STATS. He does not work for Marimo. Recently he analyzed LAPD helicopters, AI Budgets, non-AI Art Budgets, Lincoln-Peterson Estimators, and GLMMs. Questions, comments and other inquiries can be sent to nfultz@gmail.com
A big thanks to Neal for offering to speak, we’re looking forward to it! If you are interested in giving a talk at a future event, please please message us and let us know at https://socalpython.org/contact/.
Come out and listen with us at O'Brien's Irish Pub in Santa Monia on Saturday, April 18th, starting at 2PM.
PyCon Booth Volunteering
We're still on the lookout for volunteers who are attending PyCon 2026 in Long Beach (less than a month away) who can help run our community booth. Please fill out this form to let us know if you can lend a hand.
Until next time,
