“That deep emotional conviction of the presence of a superior reasoning power, which is revealed in the incomprehensible universe, forms my idea of God.”
— Albert Einstein
There isn’t only one correct idea of God. For some of us, God is manifest in nature—in the forests and flowers and waterfalls. Others may see God in people’s faces—the wisdom and endurance of the very old; the innocence and wonder in the very young. The mystery of the planets and their orderly rotation around the sun, that the sun rises and sets without fail, provide for many of us awesome reminders that someone or something is in charge.
The beauty of these concepts is that they are all true. God is big enough to encompass what any of us conceive God to be. It’s not important to have an exact understanding of God; it’s only important to believe. With belief we can begin to know freedom from worry, and have the courage to take whatever actions are right for us now.
