Meditation reading for Friday August 23, 2024
MAKING PROGRESS —
It is human nature to think wisely and act foolishly. It’s easy to see why we never graduate from this program. Talking about our principles is one thing, living them is something else. None of us achieves sainthood. The best we can do is remain willing to grow spiritually. Being human, we are always going to make mistakes. We are going to continue doing foolish things, hurting others as well as ourselves.
Fortunately, we can also continue to take personal inventory and make amends. Each time we do, we are making spiritual progress. We make progress, too, by staying in touch with our Higher Power, who offers guidance as well as forgiveness. Checking in with God throughout the day helps us to make fewer mistakes along our path.
I don’t have to be perfect today, but I can make progress.
