The Snoot Letter #7 – The Late Issue
The Snoot Letter
Issue #7 – October 21, 2019
OK, so, yeah… this one is late. I kept thinking that this issue of the Snoot Letter was going to be about the ongoing “conversation” around Martin Scorsese and Francis Ford Coppola saying not-nice things about Marvel movies. I thought about it over the weekend (when I usually write these newsletters). I thought about it this morning (when I sometimes write these newsletters). And I just couldn’t bring myself to say anything of value on the topic.
A couple iconic directors aren’t fans of the dominant form of pop movies.
I just don’t care. The whole thing is boring and it’s tiring.
So here I am on Monday evening, feeling like an idiot for not having a backup topic for today.
Enjoy your week!

📖 I’m a big Brandon Sanderson fan, and I just caught up with his “The Reckoners” series. A trilogy about a post-apocalyptic world where a portion of the population have been given superpowers, and they all went evil. I’m not totally sure how I missed them before, but I love the series!

🎬 I saw Makato Shinkai‘s new movie Weathering With You and it’s stunningly beautiful. It didn’t quite capture the magic of Your Name (one of my favorite movies of this decade), but it’s totally worth checking out when it hits the US in January 2020.
