Our January Pick is...
We are soooooooo excited to debut our book club, both in person in Wilmington NC and virtually here on Beyonce's internet. Here are all the important details!
The Smutty Granny Book Club is something we've been talking about for years, a way to honor and celebrate the experience of finding a love for romance by borrowing books from grandma's library. "We" are Elena and Julie, two grumpy school marms with a love for off color jokes and smutty books.
The SGBC will meet in person for the first time on January 20th, 2022 at Papercut Books in Wilmington, NC, at 7pm. We will, obviously, have a donut party in celebration of the book and in honor of the first pick.
Papercut is very generously offering us a space to host these meetings and our hope is that we can support our local independent bookshop by ordering our books through Papercut.
For local participants, the owner Holly will do a group order and then we will be able to buy directly from the store. Please respond to this email if you'd like to purchase a book through this route so we can help Holly get a rough estimate. Once the books are in we will let everyone know and you'll be able to pick them up downtown!

Our mission is to focus on romance and rom-com books that are steamy, smutty, engaging, fun, and flirty. The past few years have been rough and we're choosing to lift ourselves up through books that bring us joy. We hope to pick books with lead characters that entertain and endear us, and we'd love your help in finding those characters. If there is a book you're dying to read and chat about, let us know! As the book club grows and establishes itself we hope book selections will become a group effort.
And finally, the Smutty Granny Book Club is for anyone who loves to read romance novels. We (Julie and Elena) both aspire to one day be Smutty Grannies ourselves but this book club welcomes with open arms readers of all genders, grandparental status, and all other qualifying characteristics.
