Happy 2022! January Meeting Details and (drumroll please) February Book Announcement!
Good Afternoon Dear Grannies!
Here we are, the beginning of a new year. We're treading lightly when it comes to 2022 but we're excited about the small emotional pull throughs that will keep us moving forward, like the beginning of the Smutty Granny Book Club's monthly meetings! We're just a few weeks away from the first in person meeting, and we can't wait! We're also excited to make our February book announcement and iron out some logistical details for both in person meetings and book selection. We'll try to keep it brief!
First up, our inaugural in person book club meeting will take place on January 20, 2022 at 7pm at Papercut Books in Wilmington, NC on the corner of Market St and 2nd. If Covid trends continue as they currently are we anticipate that the mask mandate in the county will be back in place by this time. For the safety of the book club please plan to wear a well fitting mask. If the weather is nice, we'll prop the doors open as well!
Our January book pick was The Donut Trap by Julie Tieu! There is still time to order this through Papercut's online store. We'll be discussing this book at the January meeting.
At the January meeting we will also be voting on future meeting times (we're not married to Third Thursdays) and future book selections. If you can't make the January meeting but want a say in meeting times or want to make a future book suggestion, respond to this email and we'll add your opinion to the conversation.
Speaking of future book picks our February pick is..... A Marvellous Light by Freya Marske!
This book will be available to purchase in person at Papercut and through their online store. If you'd like to purchase a copy in person at the January meeting respond to this email and let us know so that we can be sure they have enough copies in stock.
