February Momentary 2025
Writing
Indiegames
For supporters, I did my annual ranking of games I finished on stream here on ko-fi for the 2024 period! Unfortunately with the change in my schedule and return-to-office mandates I didn’t finish as many as I used to but they were all a wonderful bunch of games.
As for upcoming blogs I’ll need to rain check this as we’re in a bit of a dry spell in indiegames that I feel passionate about writing for. Based on the current release schedules on my radar things should pick up again in the second quarter of the year.
Boardgames
Finally we’re getting in offers for reviews and I just got the notification that Panda Panda and Kyoto-No-Neko are on their way in the post. As an animal lover I can’t help but be interested in themes that have them in games.
Video
Streaming
Remember how I said I’ll be starting Persona 5 Royal as my first introduction to the franchise? That’s still happening but there was a big Steam sale and Detroit: Become Human was included. I’ve been hungry for a good narrative game so we’ll need to bump that up in priority after finishing Dave the Diver. Scattered in between those streams will be coverage of Spirit Swap and Date Everything, both of which will have some refreshing thirst-quenching gameplay.
I had such a good time during the Lego stream and Board Game stream in January, if you missed them the VODs are available on Twitch!
Keep an eye on the Twitch channel in general this month as there may be an indiegame collab incoming that I’ll announce :)
Long Form
At the time I’m writing this I don’t quite have a link available to share but please keep an eye out for the Youtube video of my early look for Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector!
Personal
Currently Playing
Up next in my offline queue will be the Beyond the Bet DLC for A Date with Death, which I backed on Kickstarter. This installment has NSFW scenes so unfortunately this will not be shared on stream ::nervous laughter::
IRL
I’ve officially moved away from the major billionaire-owned social media platforms and have starting building a new home on Bluesky, Pixelfed and Mastodon. No pressure to join me, of course, but if you are on those platforms I would love to reconnect!
My second sourdough loaf was so much better. I gave it much more time to ferment and proof this time, so the oven spring and bubbles in the crumb improved. It’s such a joy to know you can make bread from flour and water.
Part of my mental health self-care this year will be to try and attend more arts & entertainment. My first stop of the year was to see Some Like It Hot, which was a ton of fun and delivered good “traditional” musical scores.
Japanese lessons are going well and I’m solidly able to have small talk conversations about someone’s home or their vacation plans. Thanks again to everyone who has been supporting me through ko-fi or Twitch subscriptions/bits to make this happen. Now it’s just a matter of building in a savings plan so I can actually go to Japan…
Picture of the Month
There are some lovely wildlife preserves in the Bay Area and while you may think the winter time has nothing to offer… this tree begs to differ! Not all flora lose their beauty in this season.

Feel free to reply directly to this email to let me know your thoughts, or perhaps any content that you'd like to see or questions you might have. Otherwise, sending you all my resistance-filled thoughts for the month and I look forward to writing to you in March!
