New song editor needs testing
Hey there! Long time no newsletter.
I'm writing to invite you to test out a new version of the Strum Machine song editor!
We've been working on this update for three months. Some highlights:
- Reimagined editing toolbar and interface, which is particularly nicer on phones & tablets
- Expanded chord selection, including all the missing jazz/swing chords
- Improved subdivided beat functionality
- Number-chords editing mode (type 1 4 5 instead of G C D)
- Fresh coat of paint on the editing interface in general
These updates will hit beta.strummachine.com in the near future... but if you want to check them out ASAP, book a usability test with us. Some pretty substantial changes are coming to the editing interface, and we want to make sure we haven't accidentally worsened anything, which is why watching others use the new UI for the first time is so valuable.
In a usability test, we'll explore the new editor together over Zoom. You'll retain access to the new version after the session is over, and we'll also throw in two months of subscription credit for participating.
We're looking for folks of all (musical and technical) skill levels, from total beginner to seasoned professional.
If you have any questions, please hit reply. Otherwise, please consider signing up for a usability test! If all the slots get taken up, hang tight and we will hopefully have a public beta version ready to go sometime in mid-April.
Thanks for reading!
Luke
P.S. - You ever get into a cycle of avoiding doing something (even something that isn't that hard), then feeling guilty about avoiding it, then avoiding the task even more because you want to avoid the those guilty feelings around your avoidance? That happens with me and sending out newsletters sometimes. Sorry for the radio silence. I was partly just waiting until I had some exciting news to announce. 😉
