good king wenceslas

here's a short one:

last year, around christmastime, i wrote an essay for a project called A Very Sufjan Christmas, which publishes an essay about a particular christmas song by sufjan stevens on each day of December up until Christmas (and has been doing so for three years. 25x3). sufjan has 100 christmas songs. that means 2021 is the final year of the project, and this year's essay by me (which is ostensibly about a song called Good King Wenceslas, but actually is about cookies and tradition before wildly spiraling into an indulgent monologue about illness and resentment etc) published on the second of this month. it's here if you want to read it. the other ones on the site are quite good too, i think.
