2024-June Musings

Blood, sweat, and excuses.

G’day:

Some stuff that you may be of interest.

Update!

  • Sorry about last month. I was just too busy to commit to writing the newsletter. I thought I’d have some time, but unfortunately it got away from me.

  • This month has been very busy, especially with Blog June in full swing. What is Blog June? The basic concept is to promote blogging, with the idea that you blog every day. As of writing this (28th June), I’ve made twenty-eighth posts with one more scheduled. Just one more to go. It’s been tough, but I’ve managed to keep it going. Here are some highlights to pad out this newsletter:

    • My Review of Godzilla: Minus One

    • Celebrated my Fifth Anniversary since returning to Singapore

    • My article about why cinema might be dead for me

    • Why I have difficulty not just reading when I’m deeply involved in a writing project, but why I can’t code either

    • I reached ten thousand views on my novel, Coils of the Serpent

    • A couple of posts about maps: How I find making maps for readers hard, and some map making techniques I use.

    • 3 ways for writers to avoid Secondary Word Anachronisms

News

  • This lawsuit will likely define how AI is used (at least within the music industry).

  • Technically not news, but here’s a complementary video about why music is getting worse.

Other

  • This was fun. Trouble starts at about the six minute mark.

That’s it!
