Weaving the Dreams of Fantasy
Gosh there's been a lot going on, much of it I can't talk about yet (isn't that always the way?), but there are a few things I wanted to share:
I will be conducting a four week online course specifically on writing fantasy!
Weaving the Dreams of Fantasy
Let author Kelley Skovron guide you through the strange and magical landscapes of writing fantasy, from Tolkein's Middle Earth and Le Guin's Earthsea, to Martin's Westeros and Jemisin's Stillness. Together, you will explore the evolution of the fantasy genre and it's many subgenres, delve deep into what makes fantasy writing unique, and discuss what new quests in creativity and publishing might await you!
It begins in June. For a course breakdown and more, check out the course registration page on Atlas Obscura. I'm really excited to teach this class!
Oh, and if you're in the Columbus, Ohio area, I'll be teaching a one-day, condensed and super intense version of this course at the Upper Arlington Library on June 6th.

No Filter Audiobook!
My latest middle grade horror novel, No Filter, which came out in February, is getting an audiobook read by yours truly! I had a great time recording this, and I hope you enjoy it. It comes out May 21st, but you can preorder now wherever audiobooks are sold. Maybe you're an Audible subscriber, and you haven't spent this month's credit yet??? Well, here you go!
Okay, back to the word mines for me. College is expensive, ya'll and both offspring here there now.
p.s. I'm moving again this summer... 😅
