Reminder... Send me your sounds!

Simon Panrucker's Newsletter!

Hey chums!

Here’s a friendly reminder to send me some sounds so I can make a piece of music like this with you :) I’ve only had a handful so far and it would be great to have a bustling bunch to choose from, so literally RIGHT NOW* here’s what I’d like you to do:

  • Grab your phone
  • Open whatever voice memo or video recording app you have
  • Point it at something near you that makes a noise (musical or otherwise, including your face)
  • Press record and capture a sound
  • Email it to me

And LET’S MAKE SOME CRAZY CRAZY GOODTIME MUSIC TOGETHER, BAYBAAAAY!

*or, you know, whenever is next convenient.

You can send as many sounds as you like. The deadline for submitting sounds is FRIDAY 9TH OCTOBER so get em in there wooooooo.

Other News!

I forgot to include this in the last newsletter… Meg - who requested the story about Mutske the Electric Chicken - made a super cool little animation of Mutske! Nice one Meg!

I’ve been busy with work and holding Lil P under the armpits while he bounces up and down for hours so I’ve not made anything to share this week. I’ve started writing a short film about a wizard who wants to fly like a pigeon and a clown who wants to go to the moon, so I’m enjoying that! I will share more in time…

Recommendations!

🎬 My Octopus Teacher - This documentary about a friendship between an obsessed cameraman and an octopus is really beautiful to watch. Octopuses are freakin’ amazing.

🎵 Music Save Me (One More Time) - I’ve been listening to this lo-fi soul/jazz/funk/pop album by Mocky a lot! The first half’s a lil wet for me at times, but the second half has some tasty grooves.

📼 People Wearing Headphones In Movies, But They’re Listening To Podcasts - the title explains it really… These silly videos swapping music in films for podcast intros gave me a chuckle!

🎵 Etude 1 For MIDI Slap Bass - This lo-fi turbo-funk track will put a boost in your pixel pipe!

That’s it for this week!

Have you been making anything you’d like to share with me?

Love you bye!
Simon
