BRB, Disassociating (Books Recs for Slump-busting)
If lately you have found yourself unable to enjoy your regular fiction-reading due to the omnipresent terror of encroaching fascism--you're not alone!
For the past couple months, reading--which is so often the pick-me-up or escape hatch I need when I feel down--just hadn't been cutting it for me. I think a lot of people have been feeling that way. It can be a real bummer when the thing you usually turn to for comfort just...stops working.
BUT, after a few sad months, I think I'm finally over my reading slump hump, so, if you're in need, here's what I got:
1. Permission to ditch. I rarely DNF a book, but desperate times call for quitting! I set aside a few books that just weren't doing it for me in the moment. I think I'll likely go back and give them another try sometime, but if you're stuck, it's okay to cast about for a while until you find something that grabs you.
