Signal Chain — Episode 3
Welcome to the third episode of Signal Chain. This pop-up newsletter is a creative collaboration between generative musician Duncan Geere and photographer Oliver Holms.
We’re taking turns to send new work to each other. Each new piece is inspired by the piece before. We’re building a chain of influence together and you’re along for the ride. New installments are released on the 1st and 15th of every month, and you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in the footer.

Hello Oliver,
I loved your photo, and it brought back a lot of memories - my dad was an enthusiastic driver, and so I spent a lot of my childhood in the passenger seat of a car. A passenger seat is a curious liminal space - not in one place or another, and with no responsibilities conferred upon you. It's no coincidence that I spent a lot of that time reading, listening to music, and looking at the scenery. It probably contributed substantially to who I am today.
I tried to recreate some of the mood and atmosphere of a passenger seat in this piece of music. A bit of the way that the landscape goes past when driving along a motorway. Fast but slow. It was created with my modular synth rack, which is a beast that seems to grow on a daily basis.
