Tanzania 🇹🇿 Usawa Kahawa Project
Hello Sideyard Friends,
This week’s coffee comes from a lot comprised of ~300 small holder farmers in southern Tanzania who produce with a commitment to gender equity in coffee farming. (In Swahili, usawa means balance and Kahawa means coffee). I roasted this one Monday. With a few extra days rest compared to our normal Wednesday roasting routine, it’s had a couple extra days to settle into a moderately bright cup with notes of apricot, chocolate, brown sugar, and lemon. It’s been great at all temps—hot, iced, and room temp.
We have a couple spare 16oz bags available.
The origin track for the week is Nzala Uruguay by Msafiri Zawose.
Cheers,
Ryan
