Sideyard Notes: Year in Review 2023 🪩 | No Coffee This Week Reminder
Hello Sideyard Friends,
Thank you for your support this year! Sideyard Coffee was started as a pandemic fever dream in July 2020. The idea was simple if not foolhardy–roast a new coffee every week and deliver it by bike to friends and neighbors. The roaster is bigger (and no longer in my side yard), and we have a website (huzzah!), but three and a half years in, the basic concept hasn't changed. The foolhardy bits remain too... There are reasons most roasters don't roast a new coffee every week, but I love the variety and the challenge of it. As it stands, we're still having fun and I think the coffee is as good as it's ever been. As long as these things continue to remain true, we'll be here! Here's 2023, by the numbers:
* Pounds of coffee roasted: 2,150
* Bags of coffee: 2,200
* Delivery miles biked: 385
* Coffee origins roasted: 19Â
* Current subscriber count: 56
Cheers,
Ryan (and Michael)
p.s. A reminder that there's no coffee this week because it's a fifth Friday. See you in the new year!
p.p.s. Shout out to Tim Giuffi at Lyman Ave Bread for inspiring us with his sourdough-by-bike-subscription model, which started rolling in summer 2019.
