Sideyard Notes: Peru 🇵🇪 Warmikuna Collective
Hello Sideyard Friends,
This week's coffee is from a collective of 55 women coffee growers in the Junin region in northwest Peru. The name Warmikuna means 'women' in Quecha--one of the oldest languages in Peru (used by the Incas) and still the second most widely spoken language in the country.
The first and most enduring cupping notes that come through are dark chocolate and brown sugar. There's a splash of grapefruit in the sweeter/brighter aspects as well. We have a couple extra 12oz bags in stock on the site.Â
The origin track recommendation for the week is Llaman a la Puerta by Pochi Marambio y Tierra Sur. Â
Cheers,
Ryan
