Sideyard Notes: Colombia 🇨🇴 Narino 🌋
Hello Sideyard Friends,
This week's coffee is from the Narino department in the western corner of Colombia. The region is know for having six volcanoes, which produce ideal growing conditions for coffee (high elevation, great drainage, mineral rich soils, warm days and cool nights, the list goes on)! I've been enjoying the cleaner and crisper profiles of washed coffees lately and this one continues that trend. Cupping it after just one night's rest had me feeling a little unsure where it was headed, but two days in and it's settling in nicely! It's a solid medium roast with caramel and grape leading the way, followed by hints of cherry and tropical fruit.Â
The origin track recommendation for the week is Bumburumbumbum by Cassimbas Negras. With a title like that, how could I not...Â
Cheers,
Ryan
We have a couple spares this week, and a couple spares left from last week's Kenya yet as well.Â
