Sideyard Notes: Colombia Huila π¨π΄ + Barrie Fest Saturday 9/9!
Hello Sideyard Friends,
This week's coffee is a solid medium roast from the Huila region of Colombia. The flavor notes include a base of milk chocolate and almond, followed by green apple and stone fruit. I have to admit that I was not expecting a lot out of this coffee, and maybe that's for the best because it ended up taking me by surprise. Maybe precisely because it's not wild or weird, it ends up being a delightful coffee.Β I suppose there's a lesson here about expectations.
We'll be selling bags from this week's Colombia as well as last week's Costa Rica at Barrie Fest tomorrow. We'll also be giving away cups of brewed coffee while supplies last, so come say hi!Β
The origin track recommendation for the week is PolicΓa by Meridian Brothers and El Grupo Renacimiento. It's from a 2022 concept album that was designed to sound like a lost 70's B-grade salsa dura band. Fun!
Cheers,
Ryan
