Sideyard Notes: Blend Week π¨π·π°πͺπ§π·
Hello Sideyard Friends,
We're currently roasting 45 to 50 lbs of green coffee per week. But the importers we buy most of our coffee from, sells coffee in 65 lb bags. Compared to the standard 60-70 kg imported bag of coffee, 65 lbs is so much easier to manage. It means it can get shipped FedEx or UPS, and when it gets here, it only takes one person to schlep it around. However, the size also means that roughly once a month, we have to roast the leftover greens from three different origins and mix 'em into a beautifully random blend. There was one a few months back that I wasn't in love with, but it usually works. This week's is a combination of three wildly different origins--the more rustic Brazil is leading the pack, followed by Costa Rica Honey and Kenya Peaberry. It's tasting great to me.
