Sideyard Coffee: September 3 - Ethiopia πͺπΉ Guji G1 Organic Mormora Natural π
Hello Sideyard Friends,
I don't usually weigh us all down with the full proper nit-picky naming details of the coffee from week to week, but I've been looking forward to this one for a while so here it is in all it's glory: Ethiopia Guji G1 Organic Mormora Natural. Guji is the zone in Ethiopia where it was grown. G1means it's been very carefully hand sorted (to Grade 1).Β Mormora is the farm that grew the coffee. And Natural is the processing method (see previous newsletters). In short, it's a high quality single estate coffee that's certified organic and very well cared for from farm to processing station to roaster!
The flavor profile is in line with the last two weeks of natural/dry process coffees but it's a bit cleaner and more refined. It has a little less of the natural fermentation process flavor coming through and has some really nice tropical fruits and melon notes. I'm thoroughly enjoying it.Β
This week's origin track recommendation is Ye Bati Koyita by Samuel Yirga. If you like Keith Jarret or similar jazz pianists definitely take a listen.Β
Next Saturday, September 11, Michael and I will have a table at Barrie FestΒ where we'll be handing out sample bags of Sideyard Coffee. Come say hi and grab some beans! Check the Facebook event page for all the details.Β
Cheers,
Ryan
p.s. we have one extra 12oz/$12 bag this week.Β
