Sideyard Coffee: September 19
Hello Sideyard Friends,
This week's coffee is a dry process medium-light roast from Hamasho Village, Ethiopia. Ethiopia is both the birthplace of coffee and one of my favorite origins–in no small part due to how fruity many of the coffees tend to be. My personal coffee roasting white whale is an Ethiopian Yirga Cheffe from five or six years ago that tasted uncannily like blueberries. This week's coffee isn't quite that fruity but it's a fun one nonetheless.
In the pour overs I brewed, I tasted bright lemon followed by sweeter fruits like strawberry, and perhaps, yes, a touch of blueberry. If you're tasting something different (maybe just a good cup of coffee?), don't worry about it! You do not have to treat it as something that needs to be parsed and analyzed to enjoy it! Whatever the case may be, I'm always curious to hear which coffees are hitting the spot for you.
cheers,
Ryan
