Sideyard Coffee: September 10 - Guatemala 🇬🇹 + Barrie Fest!
Hi Sideyard Friends,
Like last week's coffee, this week's is another single estate offering. It was grown by Don Evelio Villatoro in the Huehuetenango Department of Guatemala. "Huehue", as it's called by locals, is known for clean and bright tasting coffees, and a lot of it. Up to 80% of the population makes its living directly or indirectly on coffee.
We roasted this one just past first cracks, into Full City territory and it's tasting great. It's decidedly different than the spate of African naturals we've been enjoying over the past few weeks. It's cleaner, bigger-bodied, and has flavor notes that are more in line with caramelized sugars and bittering cocoa. Look for a spiced note in the end as well.Â
We'll have a table at Barrie Fest tomorrow, starting at noon. Come say hi!
Cheers,
Ryan
