Sideyard Coffee Notes: Uganda πΊπ¬ + Guatemala π¬πΉ Blend | spares in stock!
Hello Sideyard Friends,
This week's coffee is a 2:1 blend of leftover greens from the recent Uganda and Guatemala roasts. The first thing that hit me was how well balanced it is. It's big bodied, but not lacking in acidity. It's juicy but not without some darker notes. And the washed Guatemala helps tone down some of the wilder funky dry process notes in the Uganda. The specific notes that stand out for me include honey, brown sugar, and darker toned/stewed fruits.Β
The origin track for the week is a collaboration between British producer Rian Treanor and Ugandan fiddle master Ocen James:Β Agoya, from the albums Saccades. Apple Music provides a succinct description: "a futuristic fusion of Ugandan fiddle and head-spinning synths." If you want to hear what an unadulterated ugandan fiddle sounds like, check out this YouTube video. Not the same musician, but some similar sounding melodies emerge between the two.Β
We have a handful of spare bags in stock currently, a couple from last week's Ethiopia, a handful from this week's blend, and the last two bags of the current Moka/Java decaf.
Cheers,
Ryan
