Sideyard Coffee Notes: Mexico 🇲🇽 + First Batch Coffee Offer
Hello Sideyard Friends,
This week's coffee is from Mexico! It's a first for us and it's a delicious one at that. Caramel, cinnamon, and cocoa are the top notes for me. Those are backed up with moderate acidity and buttery texture. The aroma from the brewed cup has a great spiced/candied sweetness to it as well. We have a couple extras in stock.
The origin track for the week is Ola Adiós by the indie folk/rock duo Vacación.Â
Sometimes the first batch in the roaster doesn't go to plan. Last week's Ethiopia was one of those coffees that took some extra wrangling to figure out. I wasn't happy with the first two batches of the day, so I set them aside and promised to offer it up here if it was drinkable. I cupped it this morning and it's definitely on the darker side, but still has plenty of sweetness and body left in it. I brewed it with a slightly lower water temp (darker roasts benefit from less heat) and with a splash of cream I'm thoroughly enjoying it. In short, it deserves to be brewed and enjoyed--especially by fans of darker coffees! I couldn't figure out a way to do a pay-what-you-want on the site, but they're priced to sell--$6 for 8oz. Porch pickup only, thanks! Here's the link.
Cheers,
Ryan
