Sideyard Coffee: March 26 - Burundi Natural 🇧🇮 + April Subscriptions
Hello Sideyard Friends,
This week we're drinking another coffee from Burundi and my first taste of it was a shot in the arm on an otherwise gray Thursday morning. While trying not to be hyperbolic, I have to say that I'm really enjoying this one. It has moderate acidity/brightness, medium body, great sweetness, a dried/ripe fruit note, and a rustic dry process flavor that keeps it complex. It's hitting all the right notes for me. I hope you enjoy it.
My pick for origin track of the week is Ewe Burundi by the 1980's Burundi psych/funk/rumba Amabano. The whole album is worth a listen, but the bridge on this particular song hooked me.
This email also serves as your monthly reminder to either re-up your subscription or let me know that you're taking April off. Starting this month, all months will simply have four deliveries. This change serves three purposes. 1) It keeps the month-to-month subscription costs constant. 2) It allows me a week off every now and then. 3) It gives me the perfect excuse to recommend a couple other local roasters! I'm a big fan of both Whirlwind and Kribi. I brewed my way through a bag of Whirlwind's Ethiopia Yirgacheffe over the past few weeks and it makes for a deliciously clean and lemon-drenched cup of coffee. Highly recommended!
Here are the subscription numbers.Â
