Sideyard Coffee: June 4 - Colombia πŸ‡¨πŸ‡΄ + πŸ“¦

Hello Sideyard Friends,

This week's single origin roast is comprised of coffee from small producers in towns in the southwestern part of Colombia. The dry grounds are smelling like brown sugar and in the brewed cup I'm tasting cocoa, caramelized sugar, and maybe a hint of dark fruits. In short, it's a sweet, easy drinking cup.

The origin track of the week is Fiesta de negritos by Lucho BermΓΊdez. BermΓΊdez (composer, musician, arranger, etc) was evidently one of Colombia's most influential musicians of the 20th century. The track has elements of big band, swing, Colombian folkloric traditions (cumbia/porro), and Klezmer (check out that clarinet!) all woven in.Β

Cheers,

Ryan
