Sideyard Coffee: January 29 - African blend π¨π©+πͺπΉ+π€
Dear Sideyard Friends,
I intended for this week's coffee to be last week's coffee but after roasting and tasting I decided that it needed a few extra days of rest (don't we all), so I roasted up a second batch last week. Anything ill-tempered that I was picking up in this one last week is now gone for good.Β There aren't many hard and fast rules about when coffees taste their best, but typically lighter roasts need more time and if you're using a coffee for espresso you'll have more success after roughly a week of rest. I've had coffees straight out of the roaster that have been fantastic, and then there's this one. It was drinkable last week, but it tastes like an entirely different coffee this week. In a good way.
It's a slightly lighter medium roast than last week's and it's comprised of green beans from Congo and Ethiopia. I'm picking up on some brown sugar and baking chocolate and sometimes a hint of something fruity in both the dry grounds and the brewed cup.Β
This email also serves as a reminder to either send payment for February or kindly let me know in the next few days that you're discontinuing. I'll assume continuation unless I hear otherwise!
Here are the numbers for February:
- 12oz/week - $48
- 16oz/week - $60
- 24oz/week - $90
- 32oz/week - $120
