Nicaragua 🇳🇮 La Bastilla Dry Process

Hello Sideyard Friends,

This week’s coffee was grown and processed by the renowned La Bastilla Coffee Estate in the Jinotega region of Nicaragua. Like all dry process coffees, the coffee cherries are dried whole, before the fruit and mucilage is removed from the seed. The sugars from the cherries impart an extra fruited (and sometimes funky) something like we have with this lot. I’m picking up dried cherry, fermented berries, alongside some molasses and spice. It’s a great contrast to the brighter, cleaner Kenya from last week.

To go with this week’s funky/fruity lot, we have a funky track from a Nicaraguan super group: La Conga De Las Dos Razas by Poder del Alma.

Cheers,

Ryan
