Ethiopia Yirgacheffe 🇪🇹 Washed Process
Hello Sideyard Subscribers,
This week's roast is the washed process version of the same Ethiopia Yirgacheffe we had back in January. I loved the dry process version and haven't often had the chance to compare two different processes from the same harvest, so here we go. Except... I don't have any of that coffee to do a true side by side comparison and conjuring a flavor from memory doesn't really work, so I'm working from notes...
This washed process version is missing the textbook winey undertones of that dry process version, but not regrettably. What emerges in its place is cleaner tasting fruits (blackberry mostly) and a floral jasmine note that was previously in the aroma, but is also in the cup in this version. They're both fantastic coffees, but for me, I think this one wins by a nose.
We have a couple extras in stock on the site.
Cheers,
Ryan
