New art, open studio, and good news ✨

A peek at my latest paintings, shows, and a cozy studio invite — come celebrate the season with me.

Hello, friends and collectors!

I’m reviving my newsletter — there’s so much happening lately, and I can’t wait to share it with you. Don’t worry, I’ll still only send these once a month at most.

New paintings & a prizewinner!

I’ve added lots of new pieces to my website and Instagram!

This big fellow below, a pelican I met on Mykonos island, recently won First Place, People’s Choice Award in the Watercolor Society of North Carolina’s Central Region Showcase. He followed the fishermen around like a loyal dog, waiting for snacks and the occasional head pat. The basket and bag in the painting are full of fish, which explains his laser focus!

Where to see my art this winter

I currently have works on display at:

  • Durham Arts Council for the Our House exhibition until December 7
  • The Makery in Wake Forest for Paint the Forest until January 21 (both pieces sold within 24 hours!)

In those plein air paintings, I experimented with combining watercolor and ink; breaking away from tradition and trying something looser and more expressive:

I’m also thrilled to have been accepted into the Durham Art Guild’s juried show this year with my mixed-media dancer (December 19- February 8 at Durham Arts Council):

Finally, I'll have a small piece at Peel Gallery for a*peeling December 10-January 4: image.png Sun kiss, watercolor on paper, 12x9, 2024

Holiday Open Studio – You’re invited!

December 5, 4:30–6:30 PM

I’m opening my studio for a cozy holiday drop-in with art, conversation, and refreshments. If you’re local to the NC Triangle area and would like to stop by, just hit reply to this email and I’ll share the details!

Exciting news: Artist Support Grant!

I’m honored to have received a North Carolina Arts Council Artist Support Grant! The funding will help me study with a master watercolor artist in 2026, a dream come true.

Coming soon: prints & an online shop

My first art fair last weekend was a success, and a great test run for something new. I’m now planning an online store featuring giclée prints, lino prints, and possibly original works.

I’d love your input: Which pieces would you love to see as prints? Reply and tell me your favorites from my website or Instagram.

And if you’re interested in purchasing an original or a print before the store launches, you can still reach out directly — I’m happy to arrange it manually for now.

Commissions now open for custom portraits

I’m currently accepting a few watercolor portrait commissions - the perfect way to create a one-of-a-kind heirloom of you or a loved one.

Thanks so much for following along and for supporting my work. Wishing you warmth, light, and creativity as we head into the holidays.
