shroud.labs Mission Statement

Our mission is simple,
“Building open-source, federated and private services for a freer internet.“
We believe the internet should be open, decentralized and private. So far, the internet has failed us, our goal is to build open source, private alternatives that make the status quo obsolete. People should have the freedom to own their data - or at the very least, they should define how it’s used.
We are committed to building in the open. Our software is released under either the Apache-2.0 or AGPL-3.0 license, depending on the role the software plays in our ecosystem, whether its an SDK/API - or a software/service product. This ensures that developers are free to create software under any license which interacts with our software and services, but any improvements or changes made to our software and services must be released under the same AGPL-3.0 license.
Community is at the heart of what we do. We build for our users, not for shareholders. All feedback, feature requests, and complaints are treated as a direct contribution to our mission; we won’t just listen, we’ll act to ensure our products reflect the needs of our users.
