“Manywhere, Manyone, Manything” in Seize the Press #10
As of a week or so ago, my story “Manywhere, Manyone, Manything” is available for all to read online in issue #10 of Seize the Press.
It’s about a shipwrecked lizard queen who falls into the hands of some nefarious akephaloi (those mythical little no-head guys with their faces in their chest).

The above image of the lizard-person in the spaceship has been saved on my phone forever (source unknown to me until just recently, apparently it had appeared on the cover of an old magazine called CINEFANTASTIQUE), and although im pretty sure it was after i’d already written a draft of this story, the vibe is too perfect and so please be aware that if you say mean things about my story, that creature is who you’re being mean to, god i love her so much
And yet, upon further reflection, im increasingly uncertain whether i may have incepted myself or what, i swear i already had "reptilian ship captain navigates via drug-induced crystal grid" in mind as a story concept before that picture popped up on my feed years ago but the more i think about it im like ehhhh who knows lmao. As our beloved lizard queen says in the story, “such flavors of memory are lost to me.”
There’s tons of other great stuff in this issue, including a banger lineup of fiction from Avra Margariti, Nika Murphy, Curtis Hayden Hill, and Victor Forna and non-fiction from Zach Gillan, Neal Auch, and Josh Pearce. If you haven’t already, consider subscribing, even if it’s just at their new low-cost tier on Patreon, it’s definitely worth it and Seize the Press is definitely worthy of your support.
Also, this is my second story in Seize the Press! You can also read my short piece “Clarinet” from 2022 (which I’ve written briefly about in this very newsletter) on the STP website. Working with Jonny is a delight, 5/5, highly recommended :)
Also, all payment for this story was donated via Seize the Press’s April fundraising drive for Medical Aid for Palestine. I would encourage everyone reading this to visit their website and please contribute if you are able.
Thanks!
