I was a slow adopter of voice notes — as a card-carrying anti-voicemail millennial (I know, I know, I’m sorry). But once I converted, I converted hard.

One bestie started hers with “hello from my morning walk,” and I delighted in them over my coffee every day. In a group chat, we tracked our max times — laughing at ourselves when we hit 5 minutes, 6 minutes, 11 minutes, even a 20 minute voice note. “I have THOUGHTS on this,” I’d say, before starting a new recording.

We have so much to say. What a gift it has been, to share our voices with one another, to offer each other intimacy in this way.

So I made some voice notes for you, too.

​INTIMATE PRACTICE is a podcast about power, trauma, relational skills, and intersectional praxis.

It’s a space for us to explore so many questions together — how do we steward power well, when power has been wielded against us? How do we mend what has been torn by conflict or trauma, and how do we repair what needs to be restored?

How do we imagine and create what could be, instead?
