San Francisco Review of Whatever San Francisco Review of Whatever

Dear Readers,

I’m writing with a couple pieces of news and business between issues.

Classified ad submissions for Issue Three are due on December 20. Do you want to tell everyone a secret? To share a very short set of instructions? Do you have something or need something? Submit a classified! For your drafting purposes, we expect to release Issue Three in late January or early February.

Background is a photo of a cat relaxing in a window. Overlaid text states: Submit your classified for issue three.

NEWS

This Saturday we’re tagging along with our friends at Et al. for the Small Press Book Bazaar at The Lab. I’ll be there on the early side and then plan to admire The (judging from pictures, gigantic and mostly renovated) Lab and then probably buy too much stuff from all these beloved vendors. Gifts, surely. Pick up Issue Two plus some art books? sci fi? poetry? at the Et al. table.

EVEN BETTER NEWS

I feel lucky to announce that the Review has a new contributing editor, Anne Walsh.

“There are so many ways to write and read.” This is my favorite, understated line from “We Portrait Together,” Anne’s essay in Issue Two on IF AN ELSEWHERE by Jocelyn Saidenberg and Cybele Lyle. Anne’s experimental and boundaryless tactics as a writer, artist, and editor (not particularly separate states) get at exactly what we’re trying to do around here. Kelly and I are delighted to be working with Anne.

ISSUE TWO PARTY REPORT

Finally, thanks so much to everyone who came to our Issue Two release event back in August 🌝 It was lovely, moving, and a little weird to hear the contributors read each other’s work, which they selected in the moment by chance. Thanks to everyone who wrote, read, and made work to be written about. More pictures here.

See you around,
