Sewing Circle: No Kings Protests, June 14
June 14th is Flag Day, which Trump is using as an excuse for a military parade. It’s also Trump’s birthday, so any actual historical celebration is being redirected to stroke his ego.
That means it’s perfect for a huge nationwide rally against Trump and all he stands for. No Kings, 50501, Indivisible, and a whole host of other groups are joining forces for protests nationwide on the 14th.
Already there are over a thousand protests planned across the whole country. There’s a huge Google doc list of protests here, and Mobilize has more. There’s a map on the No Kings site that shows hundreds.
In Boston, June 14th is also Pride Day! So the protest there is a combination “No Kings, YAASSS QUEEN / No Kings but Drag Kings!” (That’s the one I’ll be heading to, rainbow American flag in hand.) Parade starts at Copley at 11am, festival starts on the Common at noon.
In Waltham, it’s at 11-12:30 on the Common via Indivisible Waltham. In Brookline, 2-4 in Coolidge Corner. In Worcester, 1-3 on Worcester Common. And more, more, more, in Winchester, Milford, Quincy, Natick, Springfield, Pittsfield, dozens in Massachusetts alone and thousands beyond that.
Pick your place and time, get your signs ready, put on sunblock, and be ready to show the world that We are Not Alone.
