Sewing Circle: Canvass Caravan, Hotline Help, Democracy Donuts, PA Postcards
We’re just about a month away from the election, and efforts are speeding up every day. All over the country, people are working to protect voters, get out the vote, and power local, state, and federal races. Here are some ways to help:
Take the bus to PA from Boston
There’s a bus trip being organized for Saturday, October 19 from Boston down to Pennsylvania for in-person canvassing. It’ll be a long day but an impactful one, and volunteers will receive training before heading out. You can learn more and sign up here.
Volunteer with the DNC National Voter Assistance Hotline
The DNC is looking for volunteers to help answer phones in the weeks leading up to Election Day. They’re expecting a high volume of callers that day and want to be able to handle demand. Volunteers will need to be vetted and trained, so signing up early is a good idea. You can learn more and sign up here.
Fund a Donuts for Democracy event
Democrats Deliver is working to increase young voter turnout by funding GOTV and voter registration events at colleges in swing states. They’ve already had over 30 student groups sign up to run these events, but they need funding for donuts! Learn more here and donate through Venmo @Donuts-Democracy (last four of mobile 6888).
Send postcards to young voters in PA
The Civics Center is also targeting young voters! Their plan is to send postcards to newly registered 18 year olds in Pennsylvania reminding them to vote. You’ll need to purchase their postcards (in multiples of 50) and buy your own postage before October 18, and send before October 24. Sign up here to get started!
