We are getting in touch to offer Lewisham based-landlords access to a funding scheme for energy efficiency.

We are working with Lewisham Council supporting landlords to apply for grant-funded measures for improved energy efficiency. These may include:

• Solid and cavity wall insulation

• Loft insulation

• Double glazing

• Draught proofing measures

• Solar and other renewable energy installation

The rising cost of energy has left many financially disadvantaged. With energy bills set to rise over 50% from April 2022, many tenants risk choosing between paying bills or rent.

By improving the energy efficiency of a property, the cost of energy bills would be dramatically reduced for the tenant, securing theirs and their landlords’ financial stability.

Other benefits for a private landlord may include:

• Reduction of void periods

• Reduction of void upkeep

• Reduction of rent arrears

• Marketability of the property/properties

• Rising living standards /lowering carbon emissions

The ‘Local Authority Delivery Scheme’, also known as LAD2, is a grant fund created to reduce the financial burden of landlords willing to improve the energy efficiency of their properties. It requires landlords to pay a third of the granted amount.

This scheme is open to landlords with property in Lewisham with an EPC of D or below, and if their tenants are of low income.

Funding will close at the end of March. This service is fully funded by Lewisham Council (free to landlords and tenants).
