Selce Newsletter: 6th Share Offer Live 🔔 Polanski at GLA 🗣️

Selce Newsletter Selce Newsletter

Hi

Our 6th share offer is live! For the second time we are focusing on wonderful LED lighting - in this case at Marvels Lane Primary in Lewisham.

LEDs save up to 70% on energy versus older bulbs, and in this case will save the school around £79,000 over 10 years - to be spent wherever it needs it most.

And as if that wasn’t enough, LED lighting also provides a healthier, flicker-free environment for pupils and teachers alike - not to mention a fair return for investors.

Over 10 years, the project will also save the equivalent of more than 71,000kg of CO2 in emissions.

In a word (or 2 emoji) there is a surprising amount to 💙 about 💡.

Find out more, get involved and invest today - our last share offer reached its target in record time.

Zack Polanski advocating for Selce and in-person energy advice

Zack Polanski Highlights Funding Challenges in Fuel Poverty Support & Selce’s Service at GLA

On 29 January, Green Party Leader for England and Wales Zack Polanski highlighted the particular importance of in-person fuel poverty support in London, and the service Selce is providing to those most in need.

Speaking at the GLA, Zack went on to explain to London Mayor Sadiq Khan the current funding challenges in our space:

“Looking at fuel poverty strategy and the Warm Homes Plan…it’s a real focus on digital rather than what can happen in person – I want to flag up specifically South East London Community Energy. Previously they’ve had GLA support and that’s now stopped.”

“Since 2014, Selce has been helping communities save money, use energy more efficiently, and alleviate fuel poverty while increasing access to renewables for everyone – not just those who can afford it.”

Selce Co-Chair Kate Parker Comments on the Local Power Plan

Our co-chair Kate was present at the launch of the government’s Local Power Plan earlier earlier this month – she said:

“The Local Power Plan recognises the multiple interconnected impacts that community energy projects have, and the potential for community wealth building that they offer. The £1bn investment demonstrates a commitment to supporting and growing this model, with a vision that ‘by 2030, every community in the UK will have the opportunity to own a local energy project’ - read more of Kate’s thoughts.
