Webinar: Supporting local organisations to benefit from The Lewisham Community Fund

November 28th, 2023, 2 - 3:30 pm Online via Teams

Originally launched in 2019, the Lewisham Community Energy Fund is back with grants of up to £10,000. Community and voluntary groups, including cooperatives, faith and equalities groups, social enterprises, and schools, are encouraged to apply if they have projects that generate renewable energy, reduce fuel consumption, and promote awareness about energy efficiency.

We are running an event to help Lewisham-based organisations understand community energy, the fund, and how we can help you access it to receive the benefits and become sustainable.

Retrofitting homes and communities in Lewisham & Greenwich

Selce and Repowering London are partnering to deliver an innovative approach to domestic retrofit that will insulate homes, alleviate fuel poverty and play a leading role in responding to the climate emergency. Over the next two years, we will implement a community-led approach to addressing one of the great engineering challenges of our time – improving the energy efficiency of the UK’s housing stock.

Our aim is to make retrofit easy to understand and access. We will provide a holistic retrofit coordination service that can be tailored to meet the needs of all households and residents. We will put people and residents at the heart of the process by taking a neighbourhood approach. To begin with, we will be working in four geographical London communities: Greenwich, Lewisham, Lambeth and Newham.

More information to come soon as the new team comes into post.

The Local Energy Advice Demonstrator Programme (LEAD) is funded by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, which is working with the Greater South East Net Zero Hub to deliver the programme. Selce was one of seven successful applicants to be awarded funding to run a pilot project exploring innovative approaches to providing in-person, home energy advice to consumer groups in the Greater South East region. Across England, a total of 36 projects will be delivered.
